Royal News Update of the Day: September 4

I don't generally post twice on Fridays and I already said we were having a long weekend, but I guess Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel don't know the rules, because per Kungahuset...

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are happy to announce that The Crown Princess is expecting their second child.

The birth is expected to take place in March of 2016.

No changes in the schedule of The Crown Princess Couple's public engagements are planned during the fall of 2015.

A lot of people have been guessing this news was on the way, but then the pregnancy speculation for Victoria has been constant since the moment she and Daniel walked down the aisle. (Just one of the many reasons our comment policy prohibits pregnancy speculation on this blog.) I think I'm as happy to see the end to the incessant speculation as I am to hear the baby news, but either way: THIS IS THE BEST!

As an added bonus, the family got dressed up real pretty tonight for a "Sweden Dinner" at the palace.

Princess Sofia's cocktail dress is good too, although overshadowed entirely by the sparkles and the news. (In case you're wondering, cocktail length is also perfectly appropriate for this dinner - in fact, it's what Victoria has worn in the past.) Good job, Sweden.

Victoria's gown is from Adrianna Papell (similar shown) and Sofia's dress is from House of Dagmar,  per Expressen.
