Sunday Tidbits for October 4: Fabulous Pearls, Fabulous Reds, and More

A lot of royal stuff is coming up this month, but we'll start with details for just one...

--Mark your calendars: Prince Nicolas of Sweden's christening is next Sunday, October 11,  at noon in the Drottningholm Palace Chapel. After originally saying they would not be broadcasting the event live, Swedish broadcaster SVT had a change of heart and will start their coverage (broadcast and streaming) at 11:50. SVT usually allows international streaming for royal events. [SVT]

--I like this red dress on Queen Letizia, worn while opening vocational training courses this week. (Of course I like it, it's Carolina Herrera.) [Zimbio, FarFetch]

--This gallery would more accurately be titled "Twist and shout: The 17 best photos of dancing British royals," but giggles lie within anyway. Fans of dad dancing, the Windsors have some moves for you. [Hello]

--Here's one for the pearl fans: On October 7th, Sotheby's is auctioning the Cowdray Pearls, "one of nature's most opulent creations."  These are 42 natural saltwater gray pearls of extremely high quality and a gorgeous range of shades, in a necklace by Cartier. The pearls take their name from their former owner, Viscountess Cowdray, Lady Pearson, and they are in a set with a pair of earclips. The pre-auction estimate is set at a cool $4.5-7 million dollars. --Prince Harry's hike with Walking With The Wounded this week is for a good cause and it's another opportunity to see him in casual gear. So, win-win. [Telegraph, YouTube]

--And finally, Queen Mathilde is back in action and back to her brights. And also back to her matching shoes...obviously. [L'Echo]

Coming up this week: A couple parliament openings, Danish catching up, etc.
