--Romania's former king, King Michael, announced that he has cancer and has withdrawn from public duties. He has turned things over to his daughter, Margareta, and is being cared for in a clinic in Switzerland. [Washington Post]

--The Earl and Countess of Wessex are on an official visit to the Bahamas, Florida, and the Cayman Islands, and every time I look at this new Oscar de la Renta lace dress, I see something different in the appliqués. --Prince Johann Georg of Hohenzollern, husband of Princess Birgitta of Sweden and brother-in-law to King Carl Gustaf, died on March 2 (the same day Prince Oscar was born, as it happens).
