Royal Outfits of the Day: Kate's (and Meghan's) Latest

Quick programming note, the tiaras are on vacation today and we'll be off tomorrow. So first, let's get up to speed on the Kate front, with bonus Meghan:

The Duchess of Cambridge had engagements for her two new patronages on Tuesday, visiting the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and then launching a Nursing Now campaign.

White trim on blue is a forever sharp look, and thus I must give the 872nd entry into the Royal Coat Museum - Blue Wing a thumbs up. Makes me wish this Jenny Packham was also made to close and be used outside of maternity wear.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle attended the first annual Royal Foundation Forum yesterday.

It comes as no surprise that blue was also the color du jour for this united event, and both Meghan's Jason Wu and Kate's Séraphine dresses are getting the job done. The Duchess wore some interesting earrings for this event; they immediately brought to mind the earrings that I suspect go with the Queen's Sapphire and Ruby Flower Spray Brooch. We lack a detailed photo of them on the Queen for comparison, though; she mainly wore them before she was queen.

The Duchess of Cambridge visited the National Portrait Gallery to tour the Victorian Giants: The Birth of Art Photography exhibition yesterday evening.

It's another new floral dress, but Erdem got the night off - this one's from Orla Kiely. I'm digging how the background floral fades into a polka dot print from afar.

That said, the less I know about this not-a-v-neck v-neck trim situation, the better.
